The 14th season of IPL has been postponed due to Corona infection. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla gave this information at around 1.15 pm on Tuesday afternoon. He said that the tournament has been suspended at the moment. We will see if it can be completed further. It is clear from this statement that the remaining 31 matches of the IPL can be re-scheduled. This decision has been taken after several players came positive in two days.
The BCCI took this decision after 4 players from 3 teams, 1 coach and 2 other staff got corona infected in two days. On Monday, Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrier of KKR came positive. Also, CSK bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and two other staff were also infected. On Tuesday, Wriddhiman Saha of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Amit Mishra of Delhi Capitals also turned positive.
